December 06- Believe in magic
“Those who don’t believe in Magic will never find it.” –Roald Dahl
Imagine that. To make magic, to live magically, one must believe in the power and presence of magic. It should be easy for us as musical people to believe in the art of conjuring. After all, we take a whisp of an idea, a momentary thought and mix it with strings, sticks and breath and create a tangible work of art. Then we share that art with others. It is indeed a magical sort of life we lead.
Magic is so easy to believe in at Christmas. Visit a mall and watch children sitting on Santa’s lap and tell me you don’t believe in the mystical power of hope and anticipation in a child’s heart. There’s nothing quite so inspiring as hearing a choir perform Christmas carols. Lights, candles and holiday scents abound nearly everywhere. Drink in this season with joy and love. Deposit your old Scrooge self in the closet for the next few weeks and open yourself to the sweetness of the season.
We manifest what we think of. We already create magic in our music. Why not make it a part of daily life?
