Book Your Band-The Elevator Speech Pitch

A pitch is sometimes called an elevator speech because it’s designed to take about thirty seconds, about the time it takes to ride an elevator. A pitch is a simple overview of your music, and your band and should include specifically what you want. A good elevator pitch is memorable, short, and leaves the talent buyer with a great picture of you and your music. A pitch is usually about one hundred to one hundred and fifty words. It helps to write out a pitch and start rehearsing it orally. It needs to be easily understood. Rehearse it in front of an older child, a peer, a parent or your grandmother. Each one of these listeners needs to understand what you’re talking about. Remember you are one band in a thousand trying to secure a show. Make your elevator speech concise, clear, and concrete.
