Musicians and Money-second hand is second life
Frugal- economical in use or expenditure; prudently saving or sparing; not wasteful.
To avoid the perils of the Earth Ticket, I buy most everything second hand or used. Not only does this policy drive down my expenditures, it also keeps completely adequate and useful items from ending up in landfills.
Concious frugality provides a second life to everyday items like clothes, furniture, appliances and even cars.
In a musician’s world, the discovery and aquisition of a used musical instrument is akin to finding a gold nuggest. That perfect guitar, violin or snare drum from a previous owner is a treasure.
I prefer to think previously owned treasures, particularly musical instruments, are grateful for their second life. Instruments carry the traces of the musicians who have come before us. Esoteric energy lingers in the strings and wood.
Mindfully purchase gently used or second hand items and recognize the value in them.
