Musicians and Money-Scarcity Programming

“Everything you need or want is here for the asking; you only need to believe that it is so, to truly desire it, and be willing to accept it, in order to have whatever you wish.” Shaki Gowan

The universe is reciprocal and is totally abundant.  Instead of devoting our mental energies to beliving in prosperity and positive energy, most of us, myself included, are caught in a constant litany of scarcity programming.

It is easy to fall into this as music people. Ours is not a cushy, easy existence, particularly at the cusp of a career.

“We’ll never find a drummer that suits this project….”

“If this van breaks down again…”

“Another weekend of making no money….”

The phrase “starving musician” is often totally accurate. We deny ourselves the sustenance and satiation of a positive mental state.  To be creative, we often must entertain the not so glorious side of living.  We write about loss and hopelessness.  But we also write about the ability to rise above.

Cull a postive human from the negative influences that often craft our songs and art.  When a non constructive thought surfaces, try toning it down with a dash of positive energy. For every thought of scarcity, find one or two of abundance.

You are a music maker. You are a creative force in the universe. Craft a set of thoughts that reflect a more positive stance.
