Musicians and Money- Paying bills when money is tight

http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/SavingandDebt/P67356.asp

This is a great post from MSN.com about paying bills when money is tight.

Notice the definition for low priority and high priority bills.

For most music makers, money is always tight. If a show cancels, or the van breaks or (horrors) the venue doesn’t honor your guarantee, financial distress is right around the corner.

The best defense is a great offense. Save money for unexpectedly expenses. If you play in a band, set a bit aside from each show to offset van repairs, hiring a fill in player in case of illness or injury, or to help with tour expenses if you find yourself on cash or being paid by check.
