Convenience stores are notoriously pricey and chock full of non-nutritious fare. However, they may be our only source of sustenance on the road as we’re traveling from one performance city to another. Convenience stores at least offer a better menu of choices that what is found at most fast food establishments. Consider these items as Convenience store Food Do’s
Fruit -apples, pears and bananas are great choices and are readily available at most convenice stores. WASH fruit before you eat.
Yogurt- another healthy option. Sprinkle low salt nuts or boxed cereal into yogurt for a healthy vitamin boost.
Salads and deli prepared sandwiches- condiments are always available on the side giving you control over portions
Individual cereal bowls- with fresh milk these make a great quick meal
Canned tuna and low sugar canned fruit- another excellent, nutritious choice for the on the go musician
Drink options include bottled tea, juice and low sodium vegetable juices and water.
