Related sites:CHARLOTTE’S SIMPLIFIED ROCKS OUT 2009 WITH AWARDS, NYE AT THE VISULITEThe Queen City’s Simplified is bidding a fond farewell to 2009, closing the book on the year of the Ox with a New Year’s Eve spectacular at the historic Visulite Theatre in Charlotte NC along with friends Evelynn Rose. The group also has also performed benefits this season for Second Harvest Food Bank, raising 1,285 pounds of food in a single event and a show at Dixie’s Tavern helped raise $5K to assist with medical expenses for two families struggling with childhood cancer.Simplified performed 252 dates this year, was chosen Best of the Best of 2009 in the band catagory by Charlotte Magazine, and was honored by Creative Loafing as Best Local Band two years running. The Fender Road Worn competition held in early 2009, placed Simplified as one of the top ten bands nationwide based on fan votes for their video of Home. In November, Simplified was chosen Best Rock Band of 2009 by the Charlotte Music Awards.In August, Simplified was signed by Rick Booth to ROCKMAN Management, Booth’s new consulting and career guidance firm. Booth says,”I believe this band has everything it takes to become bonafide rockstars.They’re great musicians, they make great music together and they are consummate pros. Charlotte is not exactly known as a music town, but Simplified gives the Queen City something to cheer about.”Simplified played with Blues Traveler at the new Fillmore in Charlotte and shared the stage with O.A.R at NASCAR’s Rev’d Up event in May and again at Battleship Ampitheatre in Wilmington NC. The group appeared at The House of Blues in Chicago, The Hard Rock in Biloxi MS, and toured Florida during 2009 Springbreak, introducing the group’s music to college students all over the nation.
