Living Paycheck to Paycheck- or not

When you have too much month for you paycheck, then what you need to do is realize that there is abundance all around you and focus on the abundance and not your lack and as night follows day abundance will come to you.
Sydney Madwed

For ten years I’ve lived without the economic security of a weekly paycheck. There is no one to see at the end of the week to pick up an envelope stuffed with cash. No one’s office to visit to pick up a weekly stipend.

Some would freak out at this life without a financial net. There is no stability in the music business. The best thing since sliced bread today could be yesterday’s hash tomorrow. Rising and falling happens that fast. And no one can predict when or where or to whom it will happen.

As more Americans join me in the perilous world of financial uncertainty, it becomes imperative to simply be grateful for what you have and not focus on lack in life.  A daily litany of woe is me doesn’t help create peace and certainly keeps prosperity at bay.

If you’re an American with a steady paycheck, be grateful. If you’re one of the millions unemployed or underemployed, take heart. Consider your position as a way to explore job options within your heart. Is there something you’ve always wanted to do? Now may be the time to take that class, open that book, bake that cake that everyone raves about. Typical work has steadily given way to creative endeavors to make income.

Accept help- especially if you have a family to support, but remember you must take individual responsibility for your forward progress.  Look into your heart and soul and remember you are a child of God, able, smart and talented in ways you may not even have suspected. Be grateful for what you have and the universe will reflect your gratefulness.

Peace of purse often lies in peace of spirit and working from a place of love. While polishing up your resume, polish up your heart and discover a new definition for abundance, work and paychecks.

Another thoughtful, considered article. Thanks! I’m a freelancer too and sometimes the uncertainty can be stressful. “The Universe is an abundant place” is a frequent mantra for me when times get tough! Hang in there!

Mary thanks so much for commenting. Sometimes I feel so alone here. But I know I write just as much for ME as to hopefully help and inspire others. This year has just been beyond tough in each facet of life. But I am ALWAYS grateful I have food, shelter and clothing, a car that is paid for, a loving relationship, a sister I adore, my children (ok 31 and 24 but they’ll always be my babies!)
I read an article on MSN this morning about the miracle of people living on 18K. 18K would be a FORTUNE to me!!! LOL
You and I could teach folks a thing or two eh?
      Thanks again for stopping by!
