Krewe Competition Scheduled

For Third Annual CrawDebauchery Food & Music Festival

POMPANO BEACH, Fla.  (March 1, 2016) – A Krewe Competition has been added to the schedule at the upcoming CrawDebauchery Food & Music Festival, it was announced here today.

Krewes will compete for “Best Booth” prizes and each will have a special area to gather, relax and enjoy the festival.

In addition, each Krewe will nominate a man and woman for King and Queen of the festival.

“By definition, a Krewe is a societal group that puts on a parade or ball for the Carnival season,” said festival organizer Don Matthews. “The term Krewe is best known for its association with New Orleans Mardi Gras, so that makes it a natural connection for us. We’re looking forward to the Krewes helping us crown our first-ever King and Queen of the festival.”

The third annual CrawDebauchery Food & Music Festival is scheduled for April 2-3 at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater field. Featuring New Orleans crawfish and music, thefestival has expanded to two days this year.

In addition to a massive crawfish boil, food and art vendors, the festival will feature top tier musicians over the two days to include the headliner – Galactic – on Saturday night.

The event will also include the popular “Gumbo Rumble.” Famous master chefs will judge the “Gumbo Rumble” entries to determine who has the best recipe in South Florida. The recipe must contain okra and rice.
